An experienced team of instructors sharing one dedicated goal.

We strive to provide each student with the best possible music education, no matter what the instrument or skill level. Through expertise and our own personal commitment to each individual student, we're proud and inspired to help people in this community learn and grow.

Our staff includes the following instructors:

Kristine Larson - Piano, Voice and Flute Instructor
Teaching in the Houston area for 18 years, she pursued music studies in jazz ensemble and classical voice while completing a B.F.A. in studio arts at the University of Houston.

Since 2005 she has served in the Kingwood area as volunteer music coordinator, vocalist and worship.

Grant Johnson - Owner, Guitar and Bass Instructor
Graduate of The Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, CA. 30 years professional teaching, recording and performing experience. All contemporary styles including praise and worship.

Johnny Foster - Piano Instructor
Johnny has been a private piano teacher since 2006. He has performed locally and nationally in Country, Rock, Gospel and Variety bands.

Johnny has played on over 300 studio recordings and has appeared on “Good Morning Houston.” He currently performs in the Lonestar Cowboy Church Praise band where he won Keyboardist/Pianist of the year at the Texas Country Music Awards for 2022.

Robert Calva - Guitar Instructor
Robert has studied at the University of North Texas and The Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, Ca. While a student at G.I.T. Robert was given the Outstanding Student of The Year award for 1991-92. Robert subsequently became an instructor there in 1993. He has played with Bo Diddley, Tim Bogert, Chevy Chase, Floyd Radford, Deacan Jones, Joe Houston, and countless others.                               

Kalyssa Walker- Piano and voice Instructor

Kalyssa Walker is a dedicated music teacher and performing musician ,with 7 years experience in piano and live performance. She also writes songs.

Kalyssa teaching style is upbeat,patient and adaptable to students of all ages and different experience levels. She enjoys helping students connect with music in a personal, inspiring and fun way and tailors lessons to support students goals, build their confidence, take their skills further and encourage them every step of the way.

Kathleen Mohn - Violin Instructor                 Kathleen Hennessey Mohn began studying the violin at a very early age. She studied under Dorothy Croft, Margaret Pardee and Robert Davidovici.

She attended the University of North Texas where she majored in Music education. She has performed with numerous celebrities including Benny Goodman, Chet Atkins, Dave Bruebeck and the UNT One O'clock Lab Band.

Paulo Guzman - Drum Instructor Paulo Guzman is a passionate professional drummer with 4 years of teaching experience with percussion, guitar, bass and beginner piano.

Paulo also has real-world knowledge and experience from performing live. He creates a fun environment that keeps students motivated and excited to grow as musicians.

Trevor Dodd-Piano and drums instructor

Trevor Dodd has a bachelor of music in jazz studies from theUniversity of Oregon.He has over 10 years experience as a professional piano and drum instructor.

Trevor Dodd teachers students of all ages and helps them get to their root of obstacles to discover the quickest path to their music freedom.

Erik Sandstrom-voice and piano instructor

Erick Sandstrom has a bachelors of music education from Houston christian university.He has 7 years experience in teaching piano and voice.

Eric is a professional tenor and he currently sings at St.Martha’s Catholic Church in Kingwood. He also plays classical guitar.

Colin Hurt-Piano instructor

Collin Hurt has professional experience in classical, jazz and contemporary worship performance and has played the piano since 2005.

He has taught private piano to students for 5 years, performed in recitals and jazz ensembles.
