Kristine Larson - Piano, Voice and Flute Instructor
Teaching in the Houston area for 18 years, she pursued music studies in jazz ensemble and classical voice while completing a B.F.A. in studio arts at the University of Houston. Since 2005 she has served in the Kingwood area as volunteer music coordinator, vocalist and worship.
Grant Johnson - Owner, Guitar and Bass Instructor
Graduate of The Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, CA. 20 years professional teaching, recording and performing experience. All contemporary styles including praise and worship.
Robert Martinez - Piano Instructor
Graduate of the Houston High School for Performing and Visual Arts. Seven years professional teaching and performing experience. Currently serves as the director of music ministry and assistant youth group leader at Our Lady of St. John of the Lakes Catholic Church in Northeast Houston.
Xia Xia Zhang - Violin Instructor
Mrs. Zhang earned a Bachelor of Music from the Royal Academy of Music in London, UK . After moving to the U.S. she attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she received her Masters of Music and a Doctorate of Musical Arts.
Robert Calva - Guitar Instructor
Robert has studied at the University of North Texas and The Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, Ca. While a student at G.I.T. Robert was given the Oustanding Student of The Year award for 1991-92. Robert subsequently became an instructor there in 1993. He has played with Bo Diddley, Tim Bogert, Chevy Chase, Floyd Radford, Deacan Jones, Joe Houston, and countless others.
Barbara Ambrose - Voice Instructor Barbara holds a Masters degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Houston. She has performed opera and concerts in Parma, Italy and solo concerts of classical,choral, and scared musical genres in the U.S. Barbara has taught all levels of public and private school music, including community colleges in the Houston Area.
Kathy Brinkman - Piano and Preschool Instructor
25 years experience. Associate degree in Liberal Arts from Lee Collage in Baytown Texas. Studied Elementary Education at the University of Houston. She was on staff at St. Martha Catholic Church private school in Kingwood, Texas where she developed curriculum for preschool through eighth grade. She also was responsible for directing musical programs.
Cathy Hutzell - Voice Instructor Cathy is a classically trained coloratura soprano. She received a B.S. in Music Education from Penn State University. She continued her graduate studies in vocal performance at Penn State. Cathy has toured Western Europe with the elite 40 member choir, Penn State Singers and performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. She has over 40 years of performing, directing and teaching experience. She currently sings with the Ambassador Chorale and Bella Voce at Atascocita UMC as well as performing for numerous local special concert venues and theatrical production.
Kathleen Mohn - Violin Instructor Kathleen Hennessey Mohn began studying the violin at a very early age. She studied under Dorothy Croft, Margaret Pardee and Robert Davidovici. She attended the University of North Texas where she majored in Music education. She has performed with numerous celebrities including Benny Goodman, Chet Atkins, Dave Bruebeck and the UNT One O'clock Lab Band.
Anne Bewig - Violin Instructor Ms. Bewig is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, where she majored in Music Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. After graduating magna cum laude, she moved to Houston in 2014 and has been teaching in Humble I.S.D. ever since. She is currently working on a Masters of Music Education at the Ohio State University through their summers-only program for teachers.
Daniel Martinez - Drum Instructor Danny has studied Percussion Performance and Music Education at Moores School of Music, University of Houston. He studied under Joel Fulgham (drum set player for the Houston Symphony), Noe Marmolejo, Alec Warren & Doc. Blake Wilkins (Percussion Directors at Moores School) during which he mastered multiple styles, including but not limited to: Latin, Funk, Rock, Pop, R&B, and Jazz. He Has have worked with multiple artists around the Houston area, both in live performances and studio sessions.
John W. Carney - Piano Instructor Mr. Carney is a Board Certified Master Life Coach and
Board Certified Professional Counselor. He has been teaching Piano and leading worship for 30 years, orchestrating various musical parts for large congregations.
